I am a 27 year old young woman who enjoys living life to the fullest. I'm a musician and fashion designer and i also enjoy reading, computer games, T.V., cooking and travelling in my spare time.
I decided to create this blog so i can detail my weight loss journey through fasting. I've been struggling with my weight for the past 5years and it's only recently that i learnt about fasting for weight loss. Of course, i've fasted before but it was solely for spiritual reasons. Now my only reason for fasting is weight loss.
I'm 161cm tall and at the moment i weigh 92.9kg, which gives me a BMI of 35.8. This makes me obese because any BMI higher than 29.9 means that a person is obese.
At 161cm tall, normal weight, for me, would be between 48kg and 64kg. Personally, i would like to get down to 64kg. This means that i have to lose 28.9kg.
There are different types of fasts (which i will mention and describe in my posts) but i've chosen water fasting. I think it comes with more benefits than all the other types of fasts. I will also explain this in detail.
Initially, i had planned to start my fast on the 2nd of January, 2012 but because New Year's fell on a Sunday, the 2nd has been declared a national holiday in my country so i know there's going to be a lot of cooking around the house. I've then moved the start date to the 3rd of January.
With the amount of fat in my body, i can safely go on water only for up to 40 days but i do not want to set that as my goal because i haven't fasted for that long before on water. I've gone for that long with one meal a day and i lost a great deal but because it was for spiritual reasons, i didn't continue with that lifestyle. I went back to my normal unhealthy eating and gained all the weight back. For the reason i mentioned earlier, i've decided to start with just 7 days first and progress as i see fit.
